After taking a summer break, the women’s Bible study will be starting up again on September 30. The group will be meeting at the O’Shea house on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.
The New Testament book of 1 Peter is the subject, and the curriculum will be 1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ by Jen Wilkin, published by The Gospel Coalition Women’s Initiatives and Lifeway. This study is a combination of videos and a workbook, along with your Bible, and is arranged in nine sessions. Materials will be provided by Sojourn Church.
From the back cover:
Our inheritance is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. Peter, a man of faith and flaws and an eyewitness to the life of Christ, challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. In 1 Peter, he shares concerns about big picture issues for the early believers, reminding them of the living hope they have in Christ. Peter describes our true identity as believers and points us to humility and submission.
