Two Sundays ago we studied Revelation 2:12-17, Christ’s letter to the church in Pergamum, and last Sunday we studied Revelation 2:18-29, Christ’s letter to the church in Thyatira. Read those two passages together as a group before discussing these questions.
- What is one significant thing that you learned in the letter to Pergamum? In the letter to Thyatira?
- In your opinion, does Sojourn have anything in common, either good or bad, with the churches in Pergamum or Thyatira?
- Do we need to be aware of or watching out for any of the problems that were plaguing the churches in Pergamum or Thyatira?
- Jesus told the church in Pergamum that they all had to repent for what some of them were teaching and/or doing. What are the implications of that for us?
- Jesus told the church in Thyatira that he “searches mind and heart,” and he “will give to each of you according to your works.” Does knowing that truth have any effect in how you live and the choices you make? Should it?
